Prior to the demolition of Highgate Lodge, the College-owned international tertiary student accommodation on Cheltenham Street, Concordia was pleased to be able to donate items to two charity groups. Many beds were given to Container of Hope, an organisation that fills 40-foot shipping containers with donated and recycled items before sending them to communities in need around the world.
In addition, many refrigerators were given to Teen Challenge South Australia, a group that assists people of all ages to overcome addiction.
The demolition of Highgate Lodge, which will make way for the construction of our new College Gymnasium, marks a significant milestone in our major building projects currently underway across the College. As the Highgate Lodge chapter closed, it was wonderful to give these items a new lease on life by donating these items from the facility to two worthy causes.
