Moved by the work of The Salvation Army and the plight of those struggling for shelter from the cold across our city, the Student Leaders coordinated a significant fundraising effort to support the Unley Salvos.
Sleeping out as part of the Red Shield Appeal Digital Doorknock and Sleepout, approximately 30 students braved the elements on a wintry Friday night in June, to show their support for those in need. An ice bucket event was also arranged, with various fundraising goals reached seeing a number of teachers succumb to the chilly challenge.
This student-led initiative is a wonderful example of the compassion, empathy and generosity of our community. We were proud of their efforts of the students and staff involved, which saw over $9,000 raised for this worthy cause. Thanks to all who contributed!
