Understanding AI for Parents and Children

1 Nov 2024

Concordia was excited to host an information session at St Peters Campus titled ‘Understanding AI: Exploring the role of technology for parents and children’ with Flinders University lecturer in STEM in Innovative Education Futures and world-renowned guest presenter Dr. Tianchong (Alex) Wang. Expert insights were also provided by staff members Jack Egan (Digital Technologies) and Mat Disher (Director of Student Learning and Wellbeing).

Designed for parents and caregivers, the session provided a deeper understanding of AI's potential—from creating personalised, name-based stories to fostering parent-child closeness, to how we're combating plagiarism across the College. Strengths of AI were highlighted alongside the cautionary aspects of the technology, encouraging everyone to embrace its benefits responsibly.

It was a wonderful learning opportunity for all who attended, and we thank our three speakers for generously sharing their expertise.
