Year 12 Student Attends National Youth Science Forum

6 Feb 2025

Concordia College Year 12 student Angelina was delighted to be part of the 2025 National Youth Science Forum in Brisbane, an experience she describes as “life changing”.

Staying on campus at university colleges for 10 days, participants were immersed in a range of science and technology experiences, including several industry visits. These connections to industry provided a firsthand ‘behind-the-scenes’ insight into cutting-edge research, interactions with experts in various fields, opportunities to speak with industry partners and research providers, and information about universities and STEM career pathways.

As well as visiting the University of Queensland School of Chemistry and Molecular Bioscience, Queensland Department of Primary Industries, Queensland University of Technology (QUT) and more, the experience gave Angelina the chance to network with other young people from around Australia who share her passion for science.

“My personal highlight was having the chance to build connections with like-minded people from around Australia and to network with former NYSF participants. These people were strangers to me at the beginning, and now I have made connections and formed friendships with people from all around the country. … These 10 days have left an incredible mark on my life.”

We can’t wait to see where Angelina’s love of science takes her next!
